Our top 5 spring 2014 trends

With our April collection of new arrivals fresh on the website, and the warm weather just around the corner (THANK GOD), we thought it was a good time to go over some of the trends we're most excited about for the upcoming SS/14 season!

Few prints are able to convey both nostalgic innocence and chic sophistication at the same time. The incredibly versatile, eternally feminine polka dot manages to do it with ease.

I think we have Amy Adams character in American Hustle to thank for this one, but there's nothing that gets our sartorial hearts racing like a deep deep (but not J-Lo deep!) plunge. So much sexier than the tacky push-up-bra cleavage look, the plunge is chic sophisticated sexy.  Just like you.

Flamingos, palm trees, pineapples - love em all. Obsessed even. To me this is really more of a way of life than a trend (*see my Pinterest board and my highly anticipated plans for early retirement among the silver foxes and tennis shoes of the general Palm Beach area).  And look out for our PINEAPPLE ROMPER hitting the online shop next week!

2014 will probably be remembered as the year that "sporty chic" became a thing, the trendsetters wore sneakers with everything and styled-up running shorts were suddenly the height of sophistication. And we are on board with ALL OF IT.  Taking our well-worn items and giving them a fresh new perspective, designers have allowed us to weave a level of comfort and function back into our wardrobes so we can still look put together and well dressed while running around after our kids or chilling out on the weekends. Schlep-y old yoga pants be gone! (For good we hope.)

Even the toughest, most hard-shelled of us cannot resist the lure of the pretty flower, and this season we're surrounded by them. You already love them, so there's no need to explain WHY floral prints are the best, instead we're just going to show you a few of our current faves.

All of the above looks and more are shoppable online now. Thank you to Jen Squires for the photography and Nine West for the shoes.
