After falling in love with the wide open skies of the California desert this year, Marfa is next on our dream destination wish list. This middle-of-nowhere West Texas desert town of just over 2000 people with a distinctly nostalgic feel and built in movie-set landscape has become somewhat of a mecca for artists, indie travelers and foodies alike. Highlights include the fake Prada Store instillation that Miuccia herself choose the shoes for, the historic-turned-hipster El Paisano Hotel and the mysterious "Marfa Ghost Lights".
