Met Gala 2012: discuss.

When it comes to fashion's biggest night of the year, our top picks go to the ladies who took risks but still managed to look like themselves. That is, not poured into a gown that makes them look uncomfortable and unrecognizable. Kudos to these beauties for sticking with their own sense of style and rocking it.

So firstly can we all just agree that Carey Mulligan takes the win in this Prada number?

Loving the disco glam look of Jessica Alba's Michael Kors gown.

Rooney Mara sticks with her trademark black and nails it yet again. Givenchy haute couture.

Kristen Wiig looking lovely in Stella McCartney.

Rashida Jones dons a pretty Tory Burch frock.

We're loving Kirsten Dunsts' retro look in her signature Rodarte.

A cape? Sure why not Lana Del Rey.

Marion Cotillard is a stunner in Dior.

Even though it looks like it's about to fall off her, I'm loving Rachel Zoe's white fringe gown from her own collection. Can I get married in this please???

Not the best dressed by any means, I just love her. Dree Hemingway in Topshop.

Camille Belle brings the glamour in Ralph Lauren.

M.I.A. was never going to blend into the crowd. Risky, but we're loving this pretty Stella McCartney print on her.

And Gisele wins for "sexiest", if that's your thing. Wowza.

Notably missing from this years best dressed was Emma Stone, who usually nails the red carpet. Cute, but we didn't love it. Also where was Rose Byrne?? After her SAG awards triumph I was dyyying to see what she'd be wearing. Who was your top pick?
